Features and add-ons

Twice an hour, right round the clock, a wind turbine blade leaves an LM Glasfiber factory somewhere in the world. This is the result of almost 25 years of continuous R&D work.

We have built up LM Glasfiber’s market lead via a focused strategy of providing our customers with the best blades available for using wind energy to produce the cheapest electricity possible. We have therefore taken some clear strategic decisions about our design work, the materials we use and the processes on which our production is based.
More about our technology

Here are some of the most important features of LM blades. These are divided into standard features that are an integrated part of our overall design, add-on features that can be fitted to the blades in consultation with our customers, and some examples of what’s in the pipeline from LM Glasfiber.

Unique blade design

Blades from LM Glasfiber are designed with a highly advanced structure that’s based on a simple yet effective concept – two glass fibre shells stiffened with two webs.

More energy from wind turbine blades

New LM blade designs undergo
testing in our wind tunnel to secure
maximum yield and thereby lower
cost of wind energy.
